QATAR YEARS AGO AND NOW

From British Rule, Dawletal-Qater became independent on Sept. 3, 1971.

Stamps of  N.P. talk about the British Rule.

The natives of Qatar are Qataris. Immigrants from Pakistan, Iran and Oman are also there.

BURMA STAMP

Myanmar (Pyeidaungzu Myanma Naingangandaw-Burma) was a part of British India.

When we see the Burma stamp of 1 Anna, we think about the refugees from Myanmar. Aung San Suu Kyi, the leader of Myanmar is a winner of Nobel Peace Prize.

PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF BENGLADESH

"Civil war started in East Pakistan and became an independent entity on 16 Dec., 1971, " says the postage stamps, "India gave refuge to thousands of refugees. Sheikh Mujibur Rehuman, leader of independence movement was the first Prime Minister and then President of Bangladesh. Sheikh and his family were assassinated." Thus Pakistan became two Republics.

PAKISTAN STAMPS

These postage stamps of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan tell us the story of Indian Independence. Independence of India in 1947 gave birth to Pakistan. Thus, once a part of India became a neighbouring country of India when the British rule ended.

BUNDES-REPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND

Two stamps of Germany on one Deutsche Post and on the other Deutsche Bunde post.

Germany had been split two parts since second world war, and on Oct. 3, 1990, the merger and one democratic parliamentary state.

REPUBLIC OF KOREA

Republic of Korea (South Korea) forms the southern part of Korean peninsula. When we see the Korean stamp we think of south Korea (Republic of Korea) and North Korea of Communist Government and the problems in the Korean peninsula, and we pray for world peace.

TRAVANCORE ANCHEL

Yesterday, I posted a letter written by the secretary of Travancore Maharaja. The king was very much interested in stamp collection. He wanted to exchange/buy some stamps and the letter was written to my father Mr.B.A.Silva.

Today I post some stamps of Travancore Anchel : 1. Travancore Anchel /service stamp of four chuckrams. The picture is that of Padmanabha Swami Temple at east fort, Thiruvananthapuram, 2. Travancore Anchel stamp of six cash/ two pies, picture: Aruvikara falls and 3. six other stamps.

I, Boby Silva, here start my blog on "MY PHILATELY" , to exhibit my collection to those who are interested in stamp collection and to hear the story stamps tell us. We can hear the story they tell us if we have ears to hear and eyes to see them.

This is a letter I post today. An old letter from Kaudiar Palace. The king of  Travancore, Sri Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma used to collect postage stamps.
