QATAR YEARS AGO AND NOW



From British Rule, Dawletal-Qater became independent on Sept. 3, 1971.

PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF BENGLADESH



"Civil war started in East Pakistan and became an independent entity on 16 Dec., 1971, " says the postage stamps, "India gave refuge to thousands of refugees. Sheikh Mujibur Rehuman, leader of independence movement was the first Prime Minister and then President of Bangladesh. Sheikh and his family were assassinated." Thus Pakistan became two Republics.

These postage stamps of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan tell us the story of Indian Independence. Independence of India in 1947 gave birth to Pakistan. Thus, once a part of India became a neighbouring country of India when the British rule ended.
